The Tar Isteach management committee is made up of representatives of the committees of all three ex-prisoner associations in North Belfast. They are ex-prisoners themselves, or the children of ex-prisoners living and working in North Belfast. There is a bottom up approach to the design, methods and actions of the project with the active support and participation of the ex-prisoner/family constituency. The direction and decision making processes are the result of consultation, discussion and research within the ex-prisoner base and network. This research is carried out by ex-prisoners and independent researchers and advisors. This practice is ongoing and continuously reviewed as it underlies and informs the decision making process of Tar Isteach.

Tar Isteach continuously informs and advertises through its own network, local community medias, publications, Tar Isteach website, national ex-prisoner bulletins, research, public launches, AGM and reports,  cross-community outreach, participation with community and intersectoral partnerships and statutory. Tar Isteach's membership and youth project ensures contact with this young group. Membership of initiatives such as the CEP and NBAP affords a comprehensive involvement with a wide section of the community and community sector.

Tar Isteach Funday August 2008

Tar Isteach 8th Funday, 23rd of August 2008.

Got off to a good start, the Carnival Parade was great but the rain caught up with us and then didn't let up.

Some hardy souls just don't notice the rain
