Tar Isteach has been providing support for republican ex-prisoners and their families to develop skills through training and education programmes in the North Belfast area for ten years now. Over 1,000 people have benefited from this provision. In the period Sept 2008 – October 2009, 273 people participated in Tar Isteach training programmes. This training is being funded by the Special European Union Peace Board under the Peace III Programme. The courses and training are ongoing and provide key skills to enhance the employability and personal skills development of all participants. To date this training that has included:

All these courses depend on funding and demand from clients. However, there are many other courses that become available from time to time, so it is always worthwhile checking what’s on offer.
